Choose the correct receiver

Understand who should receive the shipment and when the customer and receiver can be different people.

The receiver is the person authorized at destination

The account owner can ship to themselves or to another authorized person. The receiver record identifies who can be contacted and who may collect or accept the shipment.

Select the receiver before final shipment processing

Use the receiver who will actually be available at destination. Changing the receiver after dispatch can require verification, operational approval, or additional documentation.

Confirm the receiver before paying the final shipment invoice.
Do not use a person who has not agreed to receive the shipment.
Use one receiver identity consistently across related records.
