Retailer tracking and package identity

Capture the retailer, carrier, tracking number, and order information needed to identify an incoming package.

Use the carrier tracking number

The most useful identifier is the final carrier tracking number used for delivery to the BUTIGAL warehouse. An order number alone may not identify the physical package.

One order can create multiple packages

Retailers may split one order into several shipments. Record each distinct tracking number because every physical package can arrive on a different date.

Do not reuse one tracking number for multiple carrier packages.
Keep the retailer order confirmation until warehouse receipt.
